2 Herbs and a Supplement For Anxiety and Insomnia

If you struggle with anxiety, depression, insomnia, adrenal fatigue or trauma, these are my top 3 recommendations.

They are safe and effective for most people and I explain their benefits as well as a few contraindications. Note: magnesium can cause problems in benzo withdrawal and possibly other types of psychiatric drug withdrawal.

Don’t make the mistake I did and wait 20 years to take these! I’ve been taking them for less than a year but wish I’d taken them forever!

Here are some product recommendations (some of these may be affiliate links where I will get a small commission if you purchase through the link):

Tulsi loose leaf, organic

Tulsi tea bags, organic

Organic Frontier bulk oatstraw for tea

Organic oatstraw tea bags

Organic Herbpharm oat tincture

Magnesium, Doctor’s Best high absorption

Magnesium oil, Lifeflo

May you be calm!

I have a growing interest in herbal medicine too and have also found that milky oat or oat straw is very soothing to the nervous system and not contraindicated if taking meds. I didn’t know that about Magnesium but stopped using it a while back when I experienced disturbing restless legs while trying to sleep. I will say now that Magnesium is contraindicated with all classes of psych drugs since I am not on any benzos but on another class of drug.

Thanks Robin. Yes, oatstraw is very safe and soothing as you say and so far I haven’t heard of anyone reacting negatively.
Which other herbs have you used for anxiety?
So magnesium caused you restless leg while on psych drugs?
Some people take it for restless leg. I haven’t had restless legs myself but I’m curious if you have a hypothesis as to why it causes that while on meds?
I read that magnesium can aid in detox and therefore be problematic in withdrawal of it causes detox to happen too fast.
